Develops and implements programs to ensure that environment regulatory obligations are fulfilled in a cost-effective manner, and that environmental risks are effectively managed. Analyzes and maintains detailed records of noise pollution, as well as pollutant concentrations in air, water, plant and soil samples. Assists field locations in pollution prevention and waste minimization programs through periodic monitoring and technical guidance. Conducts research on the degradation of pollutants in the environment, including streams, sediments, and groundwater. Maintains detailed records and prepares related reports and studies for submission to regulatory agencies.

ICF is seeking an International Environment Specialist to support our environment, climate, and international development efforts. You will be responsible for supporting ICF managers in winning, planning, and executing projects. You will be expected to work as part of 2 to 7 person teams to execute tasks related to the development and delivery of accurate, timely, and high-quality products and services.

You are likely to work on multiple projects, interact with all levels of staff, and have some client interaction. At ICF, you have an opportunity to apply your academic knowledge, gain exposure to major projects, and interact with experts and clients in the field, while also building content knowledge and consulting skills.

As a member of ICF’s team, you will focus on international development, environmental compliance, climate change, and sustainability. The ideal candidate will also have a strong technical background and expertise, such that they can both manage and provide technical leadership on projects.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Quantitative problem-solving; data collection, calculations, and analysis
  • Technical writing.
  • Reviewing literature and performing research.
  • Interacting with clients.
  • Preparing presentations, reports, memoranda, and other communication materials.
  • Working with teams to prepare high-quality materials to support clients, pitching in where necessary.
  • Completing tasks in a fast-paced and self-motivated environment and in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Reporting to project managers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental studies, environmental planning, environmental policy, or natural resource management).
  • At least two years of relevant working experience (including internships and office experience).
  • Working experience in the areas of conflict resolution and stabilization
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Arabic and working in support of Middle East democracy building activities

Pay Range – There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:$64,372.00 – $109,432.00Arlington, VA (VA31)
