Research Associate/Postdoc (all genders)

For collaboration in research and education. The employment is limited to 3 years with the option of extension.

Your research focus is on the field of instrumental analytical chemistry in the context of transformation processes in aquatic systems. You will develop new methods in analytical chemistry and design new experimental concepts for the investigation of short-lived reactive species. You will present your research at national and international conferences and prepare your results for publication in highly-ranked international journals. Furthermore, you will participate in the preparation of research proposals.

Your work also includes the supervision of lectures and contribution to administrative and organizational tasks.

Your profile:

You have a university degree in environmental engineering and a Ph.D. focusing on water chemistry/analytical chemistry. You have decent knowledge in the field of transformation processes and reactions of reactive species in the aquatic environment and as well as in by-product formation in oxidative water treatment processes. You also have sound knowledge of water- and wastewater treatment. You have excellent skills in the development and application of methods in instrumental analytical chemistry for the determination of organic trace compounds, as well as methods for the in-situ determination of short-lived reactive species. You already have experience in the supervision of students and work in an academic environment. You enjoy working cooperatively in an interdisciplinary team, and you like to cope with new scientific challenges. You also have good English language skills.

The fulfillment of the duties likewise enables the scientific qualifications of the candidate.
