The Opportunity

Under the supervision of  Shelter and WASH Coordinator , the Hygiene Promotion Officer will be responsible to provide leadership and participate in hygiene promotion campaigns, prepare written material for the field, elaborate clear and adapted message for beneficiaries.
He/She will participate in emergency preparedness activities and be ready to respond in the event of an emergency, as required.

In order to be succesfull you will bring/have:

Essential

•    Education to BA level in Public Health or a related subject, or equivalent field experience
•    Minimum 3 years of working experience, of which 2 years of working in hygiene promtoin, Nutriton,WASH related humanitarian programmes with special focus on Hygiene promotion issues.
•    Commitment to working through systems of community participation and accountability
•    Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation 
•    Commitment to capacity building and developing others
•    Ability to write clear and well-argued assessment and project reports
•    Excellent communication skills
•    The capacity and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances.
•    Commitment to the aims and principles of SCI. In particular, a good understanding of the SCI mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin our support
•    Experience or knowledge of working and living in relevant regions/contexts
•    Humanitarian programming experience

Desirable:
•    Oral and written Language skills in English
•    Experience or knowledge of working and living in relevant regions/contexts
•    Humanitarian programming experience.
