The Water Rights and Markets Policy team in the Water Act Initiatives branch seeks to maximise the value and availability of rural water by improving transparency of water entitlement management and effectiveness of water markets for the benefit of Queensland communities.

The Water Act Initiatives branch in the Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing and Water (the department) provides policy and regulatory support and leads water business change to deliver sustainable water resource outcomes and build community confidence in how we manage Queensland’s water resources.
The Water Rights and Markets Policy team in the Water Act Initiatives branch seeks to maximise the value and availability of rural water by improving transparency of water entitlement management and effectiveness of water markets for the benefit of Queensland communities.
This role will be responsible for driving the delivery of projects to improve the effectiveness of water markets in Queensland (for example, including the current delivery of the Queensland Water Markets Optimisation Action Plan).
