The Portfolio Analyst will support the Sector Engagement and Performance Team in the ongoing effective governance and compliance of Victoria’s water sector. This position will assist with the review of water entity business cases, financial management reporting and other commercial compliance, as well as preparing high quality written products such as briefings, correspondence and reports.

This role will suit a recent graduate or career professional with a tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or equivalent, and has the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders within the water sector.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification (or working towards a qualification) in accounting, business, finance, economics, business administration or equivalent (required).
  • Demonstrated business understanding and commercial acumen (desirable).
  • A sound understanding of and experience in the public sector, including knowledge and experience with the structure of government and decision-making processes (desirable).
  • Demonstrated understanding of Victorian water frameworks (desirable).

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 3 years. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
