WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER

The Conservation Programs Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of operations activities in support of Chapter conservation programs. The Coordinator will be responsible for performing multiple administrative functions related to the Land Protection, Land Strategy, and Freshwater teams. They may be responsible for scheduling and coordinating logistics for special events and/or meetings, purchasing, facility management, and/or reception. They will assist Land Protection staff to achieve durable land conservation by conducting research, ordering legal services such as appraisals and surveys, and compiling data for grant applications and land transactions. In coordination with the Volunteer and Events Manager, they may coordinate the activities of volunteers. In addition, the Coordinator may perform Information Systems, Human Resources, and Finance administrative tasks, including processing forms, preparing reports, and monitoring budgets. They will use available systems and resources to maintain, track, and research data, and to produce and review reports. They will apply established processes and practices to improve effectiveness and to document program procedures for reference by staff. They will manage projects or coordinate activities with multiple variables, set realistic deadlines and manage the timeline.

The Coordinator will handle inquiries about business unit activities and assist in the development of program materials and correspondence, including mailed outreach to rural landowners, agricultural producers, and urban residents. They will work cooperatively with Conservancy staff, providing information necessary to make decisions and solve problems.

The Coordinator may communicate on behalf of their supervisor or team members with internal and external sources, including staff, donors, vendors, and businesses in order to coordinate arrangements, convey information, and ensure successful execution of program. This position requires occasional travel primarily within Wisconsin and working flexible hours as needed. The work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.

The ideal candidate should have exceptional communication and collaboration skills and experience assisting in a variety of tasks. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the conservation mission at TNC by providing administrative & operational support and project coordination to the Land Protection, Land Strategy, and Freshwater teams!

This position may be based out of TNC’s Madison, Mukwonago, or Baraboo office, or at a home-office location in Wisconsin with the ability to work from a TNC-Wisconsin office as business needs arise. The starting salary for this position will be $41,500 based on location and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-year experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience in business writing, editing, and proofreading.
  • Experience organizing time and managing diverse activities to meet deadlines.
  • Experience performing one or more administrative processes.
  • Experience working and communicating with a wide range of people.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail experience.
  • Experience writing and editing written materials for use with program communications.
  • A valid driver’s license.
