WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER

The Freshwater Science Technician performs a variety of tasks to support the science and corporate engagement work of TNC’s global Resilient Watershed Strategy. This includes research, writing and analysis on the topics of nature-based solutions and adaptation and corporate water stewardship. The Freshwater Science Technician also performs a variety of routine tasks that assists the implementation of work plans within Resilient Watersheds and provides administrative and project management assistance to program staff. This is a short-term position, starting in May or June and continuing through August or September. The position may be extended or can end early depending on the needs of the team.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Associates Degree or at least two years completion under a bachelor’s degree in natural resources; environmental studies or equivalent combination of education and 6 months’ experience.                            
  • Experience managing and prioritizing tasks from multiple sources.
  • Experience, coursework or other training in climate change impacts on water resources and approaches for adaptation.
  • Experience, coursework, or other training in nature-based solutions for water security.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Multi-language skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment. 
  • Time management skills.
