The Water TAP is a state-of-the-art laboratory space designed to propel water technology from research prototypes to market-ready (commercial) products. The facility currently provides access to five different onsite water sources at flow rates near 1000 gallons per day: urban stormwater, graywater, river water, rainwater, recycled wastewater plus additional onsite storage for other sources. In addition, the facility includes a large space to connect water sources to treatment systems for testing.Biotechnology Laboratory: This new 1500-ft2 facility will be used for teaching, research and outreach activities. It is a purpose-designed space for hands-on courses in bioprocessing, with equipment ranging from bioreactors to an array of purification methods, as well as ancillary equipment such as centrifuges, refrigerators, freezers, incubators, microscopes, and an autoclave. The laboratory also contains analytical equipment and setups for molecular biology procedures.About the Spur Campus: The CSU System, along with its partners, recently opened three buildings focused on water, food and agriculture, animal health, and sustainability at CSU Spur at the National Western Center (NWC). Within the Spur buildings, CSU will conduct research and convene experts from around the globe; students of all ages will engage with science and technology, and have opportunities for exploratory learning, transforming their thinking about food, water, and health and the careers available in these fields. Partners will participate in programming the space and bring evolving content to the year-round campus. These facilities include laboratory space, classrooms, public education spaces, outdoor spaces, a flexible theater, a rooftop greenhouse and more!
