ABOUT THE ROLE

Integrated Water Management (IWM) is a collaborative approach to water planning and management that brings together organisations with an interest in all aspects of the water cycle. IWM considers how the delivery of water, wastewater and stormwater services can contribute to water security, public and environmental health and urban amenity, it fundamentally shifts the way water, land use planning and urban development opportunities are understood and undertaken in Victoria.

The Gippsland IWM Officer will coordinate effective collaboration between IWM Forum members through engagement, while working to achieve the strategic vision of the Forum; support Forum organisations in their work to achieve IWM outcomes; and represent the Forum at relevant events, activities and meetings in an engaging and collaborative manner.

Classification for this position will be Grade 4 ($82,096 to $118,971 per annum, pro rata).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and manage activities and engagement of the IWM Forum where relevant
  • Coordinate and report on the delivery of the Gippsland IWM Strategic Direction Statement projects and activities
  • Facilitate and lead aspects of Forum related meetings when relevant
  • Regularly communicate with IWM Forum member organisations to ensure effective collaboration of IWM related activities
  • Liaise, advise and advocate on behalf of the Forum with relevant stakeholders in the Forum region and state-wide.

ABOUT YOU

  • Professional experience in integrated water management, drainage and stormwater management, flood planning, or blue-green infrastructure
  • An understanding of the Victorian water and local government sector and water and land use planning framework and other policy relating to integrated water management
  • An understanding of Catchment Hydrology, Water Sensitive Urban Design and IWM principles
  • An appropriate tertiary qualification in a field of engineering, natural resources management, sustainable agriculture or related discipline, or significant and relevant practical experience in a related discipline
  • Project management experience highly desirable.
