The Environment, Heritage and Sustainability Division develops and delivers policy and action that protects built and natural heritage, supports climate change adaptation and mitigation, delivers a resilient Adelaide, establishes arrangements for landscape management and partners with boards and councils to deliver their strategic objectives

The Green Adelaide Branch provides support to the Green Adelaide Board and seeks to facilitate and deliver the Board’s Business Plan. Green Adelaide delivers a “hills to sea” integrated catchment approach and to promote the biodiversity, coastal values, nature-connectedness and sustainable use of water resources across the metropolitan area. Partnerships and collaboration with all levels of government and non-government organisations, the community and Kaurna is at the heart of delivering the programs of Green Adelaide.

Environment Heritage and Sustainability are looking for a passionate Senior Water Projects Officer to join their vibrant team within the Green Adelaide Branch. The Senior Water Projects Officer is responsible for providing professional input and leadership to develop and deliver Green Adelaide’s water management programs and projects.  The Senior Water Projects Officer draws on significant technical expertise and experience to provide guidance, coordination and advice for a variety of water-related matters, while ensuring appropriate internal assessments, investigations, monitoring, evaluation, policy, reporting, planning, quality and quantity management, wetlands, watercourses, integrated urban water management (including water sensitive urban design) and alternative water.  The Senior Water Projects Officer oversees the work of other staff. This role will be on a part time basis.

Contract: Contract up to 12 months

Essential Qualifications:
Tertiary or Post Graduate qualification in Applied Science or Engineering related to water management or broader natural resources management is essential

Special Conditions:

  • May be required to participate in fire management and associated duties
  • This position will be located in Waymouth Street, Adelaide, but may be required to work from another office within the region.
  • Current drivers licence is essential.
  • Some out-of-hours work may be required as part of the position.

Remuneration: PO4 $107,448 min – $116,936 max p.a., pro rata for part time hours.
