Position HighlightsThis position is responsible for the management of the Arizona Project WET (Water Education Today) Program within the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension. Arizona Project WET is an educational outreach and community / K-12 teacher training program. This position will supervise UA staff located across the state of Arizona and students, volunteers and others as required (AmeriCorps, etc.). The incumbent will interact with senior level city and state leaders in water policy to secure IGA and grant funding for Project WET. Duties & ResponsibilitiesThis position is responsible for the management of the Project WET (Water Education Today) Program within University of Arizona Cooperative Extension. Project WET is an educational outreach and community / K-12 teacher training program, with the goal of promoting responsible water stewardship through excellent and effective water education. This position will supervise 8 UA staff located in Pima, Pinal, Maricopa, and Coconino Counties. In addition this position will supervise 30 AmeriCorps team members. Also, this position interacts with senior level city and state leaders in water policy to secure IGA and grant funding for Project WET.Program Supervision: Provide leadership and direction for Project WET including supervision of staff and managing financial accounts.Community Outreach and fundraising: Develop and cultivate key partnerships with stakeholders in industry, municipal and state government and education. Preserve existing funding and expanded external funding by creating IGA’s and grant opportunities in all regions of Arizona.Information product development: Create outreach materials, educational curriculum and teacher training manuals for Project WET.Develop Strategic Partnerships: Work with the Arizona Extension AD of ANR to identify and cultivate key policy makers and committees regarding water conservation and education, and find ways to expand the UA presence within state and regional, and K-12 water conservation education.
Minimum QualificationsRequires a Bachelor’s degree.Minimum of 5 years of related work experience, including 2 years of managerial experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degreeManagement experience, including supervision of program staff.Experience with teacher professional development, curriculum development and/or water conservation and outreach.
