  • Play a crucial role in the delivery of Water Management priorities by undertaking the analysis of fluvial geomorphology
  • Ongoing full-time opportunity, NSW location negotiable
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $95,136 to $119,479 super

Our Water Knowledge team is currently seeking to appoint a Geomorphologist to plan and undertake analysis of fluvial geomorphology and its relationship with aquatic ecology and hydrology, including application to performance monitoring and evaluation to produce accurate, timely and reliable information which enables the delivery of water management priorities.

About You

In this role, you will be responsible for maintenance and development of fluvial geomorphic information across freshwater rivers in NSW. To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Hold Degree level qualifications in geomorphology or a related discipline, and be able to apply key geomorphic concepts and knowledge of river processes to land use and development planning
  • Have significant experience in physical categorisation of river landscapes, using contemporary field survey methods and desktop GIS analysis from remote-sensed data.
  • Be able to develop and apply tools, contemporary methods and geomorphic interpretation  to improve river health and aid water management decision making
  • Possess a sound understanding of and competence with the River Styles framework
  • Demonstrate your skills in planning and managing complex projects including logistics planning, data management, and quality assurance
