The Department of Planning and Environment is currently seeking to appoint an Assistant Project Officer Environmental Water to join our Environment & Heritage Group division in the Northwest region.

The Assistant Project Officer will assist the Senior Project Officer to provide support for Environmental Water Advisory Groups.  These are government-community advisory groups for northern NSW Murray-Darling catchments that focus on outcomes for the environment.

About You

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Support the Senior Project Officer to comply with committee procedures and governance and administrative requirements
  • Manage logistics, bookings and meeting arrangements, including member payments and travel arrangements
  • Keep meeting and member records, be organised, and have attention to detail
  • Prepare and maintain plain-English minutes and papers in a timely manner for reporting, monitoring and evaluation purposes
  • Have experience in a similar role
  • Have a current driver’s licence and be willing to travel regionally for work, including overnight where necessary. Travel may include opportunities for site visits to wetlands.
