Contract: Permanent, Full time

Salary: £41,196 – £43,256 with excellent benefits

Location: London, UK

Hybrid Working: A minimum of 40% of working time is spent face to face, either in London office, or as a result of external engagement or travel for WaterAid. WaterAid is located at Canary Wharf, London and this will be your location and contract base. In order to apply for this post, you must be able to demonstrate your eligibility to work in the UK.

About the Team:
The WaterAid Innovation Lab – Income has a bold and ambitious remit to revolutionise income generation and generate scalable business models for the charity. We’re seeking to challenge ourselves and others – changing the way we work to raise income and drive entrepreneurial approaches. We need to be relentless and brave. Determined to get there first. The Innovation Lab – Income is housed in the Performance, Insight and Innovation Department in the Fundraising and Communications Directorate.

About the Role:
As our curious and experienced income product development Challenger role you’ll be the key lead for all things disruptive and horizon 2, you will be constructively challenging the status quo for the now and next (1-5years) ways to generate significant new income.

Adept at managing and delivering full life cycle of product development
An expert communicator – able to balance disruption and challenge with respect, you will be able to create compelling internal narratives to ensure that you are bringing people with us on our Innovation journey.
Experienced in managing and reporting on an agile pipeline, understand how to secure and brief support from external agencies and actors to enable rapid testing.

You’ll also:
* Own Disruption and horizon 2 as focus area for new Product Development (NPD) end to end
* Lead insight to action activity to identify and rapid test of existing queue of works to deliver an effective portfolio to generate income in the shorter term with an eye on supporting the longer term transformational shifts
* Lead the test and incubation of the disruptive portfolio (products, services, public facing activity, markets and sectors) to exploit for income and engagement activity in the short to medium term
* Curate and secure effective research and insight to determine focus for the portfolio; delivers on activity to move from insight to action and outline business case for further investment to scale and grow NPD.

About You:
You will be user and product driven – developing the pipeline of activity to raise income. You will be a strong practitioner and convener of internal support and internal stakeholder management to deliver collaborative activity but also skilled in understanding when going it alone is the right choice to make.

Practitioner level understanding and at least 2 years application evidence Innovation methodologies and theory e.g.: Design Thinking, Agile, Lean, Sprint, UX and CX mapping
Product and proposition development – examples of multi year full life cycle product development from insight through to launch.
Desirable, not essential:

Understanding of WASH and / or the international development sector
Understanding of the traditional fundraising market place
