Role: Flood Liaison Officer

Team: Flood Risk Team, Client & Developer Services

Salary: £26,845 – £29,586 per annum pro rata
Hours: Full-time (37 hours)

Job Family: Providing CBG 8

Contract type: Hybrid – Permanent

Location: Working from home and any CBC offices, including Priory House, Shefford. You will be expected to attend a CBC office location on a weekly basis, and as needed to carry out your role.

About the role

We are looking for a confident, organised and highly motivated individual with a keen interest in flood risk management and stakeholder engagement to join our team as Flood Liaison Officer.

The role involves engaging with our stakeholders, both internal and external on the Council’s ‘ResilienTogether project’, which uses innovative approaches to deliver flood risk management, community resilience and environmental gains. You will provide support to the project manager in developing and maintaining strategic relationships with a wide range of partners. You will assist in the implementation of the Stakeholder Engagement Plan and will be the face of the ResilienTogether project in the local community.

Key Duties

  • Promote the Council’s ‘ResilienTogether project’ an innovation led scheme to improve flood resilience to local communities.
  • Identify, liaise and engage with a range of stakeholders and project partners.
  • To communicate complex issues/science in a way that is clear and understandable to the general public.
  • Assist with the implementation of the Stakeholder Engagement Plan, and its associated delivery plans, and monitoring and reporting on their effectiveness.
  • Support the Project Manager in developing and maintaining strategic relationships with stakeholders.
  • Assist in strategic management of customer correspondence.
