Our Manufacturing Sustainability team is looking for an experienced AWS Lead to define, develop, and map out the Water Stewardship Strategy and plan by AWS standard 2.0. In addition to this role’s technological aspect, you will also be responsible for caretaking social and governmental issues to address all five outcomes (water governance, water balance, water quality, IWRAs, and WASH) per local laws and EHS.D.403 on water stewardship.

Your day to day

– Coordinate and deliver a major water management project
– Represent the company on private, public, non-governmental, and governmental platforms on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) issues to become a recognized Water Steward.
– Identification of relevant collaborators (any organization, group, or individual(s), private or public, with curiosity about the water activities and improvements of our affiliate
– Collecting data on environmental issues such as water, biodiversity, and climate change.
– Identify indirect water use and users (direct materials, leaf, outsourced, etc.)
– Conduct water risk assessment at catchment and site levels and relay opportunities and challenges
– Accurate catchment identification/definition of the site and related description of hydrogeological/geological, which includes but is not limited to borehole design, protection measures, monitoring, and maintenance program
– Identify current and future shared water challenges risks, including pollution sources that pose a risk to water bodies, and map pollution sources, and vulnerable water bodies
– Ensure compliance with Water-Related Country-Specific Laws and Regulations

Who we’re looking for

– Degree in Water Resource Management, Water Integrated Management, Hydrology, or a similar field
– AWS Certificates implementation as an advantage
– Project Management experience is required
– Proven experience with AWS Audit tools such as AWS Audit Ready Tool, WSAS Intact platform, Teams & sharing platforms)
– In-depth knowledge of South African related water-related laws & regulations
– General business management within a cross-function environment is an advantage
– Excellent communication and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to deliver presentations to large, diverse audiences
