Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (India) is a non-denominational, non-government organization. AKRSP (I) was established in Gujarat in 1984 and it seeks to contribute to rural poverty reduction through community involvement and empowerment that leads to the efficient management and improved productivity of natural resources.

Position: Programme Specialist

Location: Sendhwa (Barwani), Madhya Pradesh

Education: Civil Engineering /Agricultural Engineering / PG Diploma in Rural Management / Development

Experience: Over 3 years experiences in implementation of community owned/managed drinking water schemes.

Skills and competencies required to meet the job requirement:
• Strong practical and theoretical knowledge around drinking water supply schemes.
• Knowledge around soil and water conservation measures and natural resource management.
• Competency in managing the project in totality and independently. Financial management of project would be needed.
• Having field level project implementation experience in water supply schemes and natural resources management sectors.
• Strong report writing and presentation skills.
• Competent in dealing with Funding and Government agencies.
• Good analytical skills.
• Understanding of monitoring and evaluation frameworks.

Work Profile to be given to new Joinee:

• Manage a multi-location project activities on drinking water schemes providing technical inputs in preparing village action plans, preparing plans and estimates of water supply schemes, preparing training modules and imparting trainings to community, members of VWSCs , pump operators on the concept of sustainable operation and management of water supply schemes .
• Project planning, technical input in water supply schemes, cost-estimates, implementation management, quality assurance, monitoring, reporting and government liaison
• Facilitating local entrepreneurs for providing drinking water services, ensuring minor and major services required in term for better functionality of drinking water schemes
• Preparing and submitting high quality project progress reports.
• Substantial amount of time is expected to be spent in the field to manage drinking water/pipe supply and NRM programs.
• Project financial/budget planning and progress analysis, variance report
• Travel to field locations for monitoring and supervision
• Any other task assigned by AKRSP (I) management.
