Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

The successful candidate will provide communications, research, and outreach support for Cadmus’ Government Sector/Water Team and will support contracts with EPA and other government clients. The focus of this position will be support of EPA client projects for the implementation of National Primary Drinking Water Regulations (NPDWRs). Additional work areas include water and wastewater utility sustainability, water infrastructure financing, environmental justice, and implementation of grant programs for tribes and tribal water systems.

This position requires someone who has a record of professional excellence, advanced problem-solving skills, exceptional oral and written communication, experience supervising staff, and experience managing multiple clients and projects simultaneously They should be able to manage tasks and projects from start to finish with minimal input from supervisors, be highly motivated to perform and learn, able to work collaboratively and independently, detail-oriented, and comfortable leading meetings with clients and senior staff. Candidates must have a professional demeanor and will have distinguished themselves with academic and professional excellence and a clearly demonstrated work ethic.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing tasks, schedules, and budgets with minimal supervision and ensuring consistency and quality of all products.
  • Provide support to NPDWR based projects (i.e., develop guidance documents and training materials that explain NPDWR requirements to operators and state primacy agency staff).
  • Responsible for project coordination activities:
    • Preparing agendas and taking meeting minutes on internal and external calls.
    • Keeping track of changes in long- and short-term project goals.
    • Preparing assignments for individuals and technical project teams.
    • Preparing briefings for project managers and clients.
    • Tracking the status of project deliverables, milestones, and feedback.
    • Tracking schedules, action items, decisions, risk, issues, lessons learned, and project budgets.
    • Documenting standard operating procedures.
  • Write or edit guidance documents, reports, case studies, presentations, and other documents directed to specific audiences (e.g., under-served and/or disadvantaged communities).
  • Represent Cadmus and clients at workshops and conferences.
  • Provide project support:
    • Ensuring project manager and client satisfaction across multiple projects in a program.
    • Facilitating information sharing and planning across projects and teams.
    • Supporting the efforts of multiple project managers.
    • Providing strategic thinking and problem solving in support of client initiatives.
    • Ensuring all practices are carried out in accordance with internal QA policies.
    • Supporting high-quality client deliverables.

    • Using quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze data and conduct evaluations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree with coursework in public health, social sciences, public administration, environmental science and policy, or other relevant area, and 3 years of related work experience or a BS/BA degree with coursework in the same areas and 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Understanding of the Safe Drinking Water Act.
  • Knowledgeable in some of the NPDWRs.
  • Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable presenting over the phone and to live audiences.
  • Ability to conduct research, collect secondary data, and analyze data in support of a data-driven analyses.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Interest in training, education, and/or outreach and communications and developing aesthetically pleasing materials.
  • Ability to work under tight timelines and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Applied experience with research activities in an academic or professional setting.
  • Experience public speaking.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as a U.S Perm Resident or U.S. Citizen.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Professional experience with EPA or State regulatory Safe Drinking Water Act and/or Clean Water Act programs, water science, or environmental policies and programs.
  • Experience in training, education, and/or outreach and communications.

The estimated starting salary for this position is $70,000. The actual salary may be higher and will be determined by several factors, including relevant work experience, education, skills, and market competitiveness.
