Two men died Sunday after a shooting in a courtyard at a co-op building in Northwest D.C., police said.
Officers were called at 3:38 p.m. to the 100 block of Q Street NW for reports of two people shot. The victims were found not conscious or breathing and were transported to a hospital, police said.

D.C. police said they are searching for a silver Chevy Cobalt with tinted windows and Maryland rear tags, but no front tags.
A third shooting victim walked into a local hospital, but it is unclear if their injuries are related to the Q Street NW shooting, authorities said.
Police said they are going to review footage from a mobile crime camera positioned not far from the shooting scene to see if it can help in the investigation.

"It's not unexpected. We actually expected this to happen," Karla Lewis, Ward 5 ANC commissioner, said. "We have been imploring the help of D.C. government and MPD. We have been asking for more of a police presence."
She also said violence interrupters are needed to squash neighborhood beefs before they happen.
"I have been asking everyone to be proactive and not reactive. It's always after the fact that we have a plethora of police cars and people coming into the area when it's too late," Lewis said.
The Q Street killings follow several high-profile shootings, including the shooting death of 6-year-old Nyiah Courtney in Southeast D.C., a shooting outside Nationals Park and another in the popular 14th Street restaurant district.
Ward 5 Councilmember Kenyan McDuffie said the community needs to be flooded with resources with a focus on violence prevention and intervention.
"This senseless gun violence is depriving communities of so many young people and adults and we need the government to get off their butts and do more than what they’re doing right now," he said.
