GREAT FALLS – Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) made several stops in Great Falls on Saturday with his first at the Montana Farmers Union Convention.

He spoke about the latest farm bill and expressed disappointment that legislation was not passed during the last congressional session, but he was hopeful one would pass soon.

The Democrat also touched on the topic of trade saying the trade terms for wheat with Canada are unacceptable and unfair for farmers.

The impact of climate change on Montana farmers and the importance of broadband infrastructure were also addressed.

Sen. Tester closed by reminding Farmers Union members to vote in the upcoming election.

His second stop was a Get Out the Vote rally with House candidate Kathleen Williams at the Montana Electric Cooperatives’ hall.

Tester faces Republican challenger Matt Rosendale in the upcoming election on November 6.

MTN News recently confirmed President Donald Trump will make an unprecedented fourth visit to Montana with a stop in Bozeman before election day.

The President has held three rallies stumping for Rosendale in Great Falls, Billings, and Missoula.

There’s no word yet on the time, date, and place of the fourth visit.
