Wow! What a morning. ⛈️ We hope you got to work and school safely. #GCFD is monitoring another band of storms coming in later this morning. We are already seeing some flash flooding in low lying areas and storm debris in our parks. Several trail underpasses are closed and the Greenville Zoo opening is delayed this morning for staff, visitor and animal safety. Do not drive through flooded areas. Turn around!

Increase community engagement. Decrease crime. That is the philosophy of Greenville Police Department Chief Howie Thompson. Building relationships between police officers and our residents is making a difference in keeping our city safe. Chief Thompson's strong leadership, dedication to his officers and his commitment to public safety earned him the 2024 Wickensimer Award from the Greenville Bar Association. Our City Attorney and a few friends recently surprised Chief Thompson with the award.

Helping our neighborhoods grow, while maintaining their history, affordability and character. We're creating a master plan for the Greenline-Spartanburg neighborhood. Located near downtown, bordered by East North Street and Wade Hampton Boulevard, the area includes traditional homes, as well as vacant land and new development. Our goals? Create an affordable housing strategy, manage stormwater, redesign a disjointed road network and enhance pedestrian connectivity, focusing on sidewalks and future trail connections. Learn more and take the survey! https://lnkd.in/dMsX5yBm
