Student News

  • The College of Pharmacy welcomed 53 first-year student pharmacists in August. The cohort participated in a number of Orientation activities including BLS and AED training and a session on professionalism and self-awareness. In this session, students worked in groups to identify common concerns and then participated in dialogue with Assistant Dean of Student Services, Dr. Kim Jones, regarding how to ensure those potential issues don’t arise during their academic tenure. Additionally, students enjoyed a lunch with their faculty mentor and received guided instruction from their mentor in workshops addressing strengths-based leadership and pharmacy career pathways. Orientation activities concluded with the annual COP picnic.

The UUCOP Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity was instrumental in providing the white coats to our students, and they wrote an encouraging note to each student that was placed in the pocket. A special thank you to State Senator Shane Reeves, PharmD, for giving the charge to the Class of 2022. Congratulations!
