Parents of Seniors!

Hopefully your senior joined us last Wednesday to drive through and get their cinnamon roll and hot chocolate. They were happy to see each other from their cars. We have more activities planned but we need your help to pull it off!

Normally we ask senior parents to buy a $200 ticket to the all night event that we host with a company called Grad Nights. However, with the pandemic creating all sorts of complications with gathering for the foreseeable future, we are having to pivot to smaller, more spread out and socially distanced events. We have taken surveys of both the seniors (Senior Fun Opinions (google.com) and you (Senior Parent Survey (google.com)) have completed and have a great start to our ideas. These events will be open to all seniors regardless of ability to pay and hosted based on:

*Money Collected from parents (see link below to pay)

*Mandates set by state and school

*Feedback from students and parents

Some of the activities that we would like to plan based on the above criteria and we are not locked into yet:

February 19: Online Escape Room (we have booked this, #1 senior choice)

March 19: Virtual Interactive Improv Comedy Show through Jet City Improv of Seattle (we have booked this, another highly requested entertainment option)

April: Looking at having a virtual hypnotist and Magician- stay tuned for more details.

May: Stay tuned for more details and hopefully better distancing mandates.

June: Again, depending on social distancing guidelines, we hope to have some sort of socially distanced in person event.

We are not locked into any of these things besides the online escape room and we are still open to suggestions from seniors or parents on what would be fun and safe to celebrate the class of 2021. Please feel free to email either amyr@teslastemptsa.org or lisas@teslastemptsa.org with questions or suggestions. We are both senior parents and absolutely want these last 6 months to fun and safe!

We are asking senior parents to give $125 through this link: https://teslastemptsa.org/Packet/Senior%20Events%202021 to get our fund up and running so that as the events come up, we have money to pay for them. We do have plan b’s for all months that can continue to be online or drive through but we are hoping that we can have some in person events later in the semester. We will absolutely keep everyone informed as the events come up.

Please help us out by paying online as soon as you are able. Checks will also be accepted at the school office and can be made out to Tesla STEM PTSA. Please wear a mask and socially distance yourself if you choose this option.

Thank you for helping us make this year the best we can,

Amy Rice and Lisa Stillwell

** Did you know? if you work for a company that matches donations, the $125 grad donation can get matched?

The Central Sound Science + Engineering Fair is going totally online for 2021! The fair is coming up very quickly on March 13. We are currently in need of 12+ volunteer room monitors to help ensure a smooth fair experience for all. These are crucial for ensuring the success of the fair!

Room monitors:
- will attend two one-hour training sessions before the fair.
- are expected to be online in a zoom room from 8AM - 5PM. A lunch period is included, and numerous breaks are built in to the schedule.

- familiarity with Slack chat is a plus.

This is a straightforward way to volunteer your time in a very meaningful and crucial way! If you are interested, please contact Yoshi Goto, Assistant Fair Director, at info@centralsoundfair.org by Feb 28th.
