OC HEALTH CARE AGENCY ISSUES OCEAN WATER CLOSURE

(Santa Ana, CA) - The Environmental Health division of the OC Health Care Agency has closed the ocean water area in the City of San Clemente from El Portal Access to 300 feet down coast of the San Clemente Pier due to a sewage spill. The spill of approximately 3,000 gallons was caused by a sewer main grease blockage in San Clemente.

The affected ocean water area will remain closed to ocean water-contact sports until the results of follow-up water quality monitoring meet acceptable standards.
