Come spend a day at the river with the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC). MDC Staff and volunteers will be instructing participants on the basics of setline fishing on Missouri’s rivers and lakes. The program will begin at 8am with a hands-on tutorial of how to safely set trot-lines and bank poles, properly label equipment, and handle and release fish. These tactics can be used in streams and some lakes of Missouri, both big and small. Following the river outing, participants will attend a seminar on fisheries management, with information on the recent catfish survey led by an MDC Fisheries Management biologist. This seminar will also include a presentation on river fishing regulations led by a Conservation Agent, along with a how-to presentation on using gear and equipment. There is no fee for this event, but space is limited. Sign up is limited to anglers that are new to setline fishing. By signing up you are applying for a spot in the clinic. You will be contacted as part of the process once you are signed up. Robert L Garver
