OZARK, Mo. — A man responsible for killing three people and an unborn child will spend the rest of his life in prison after pleading guilty Wednesday afternoon.

Brian Williams said very little to the judge and showed no emotion when listening to family and friends tell their stories about the four lives lost.

“He will never, ever get out of prison,” said the Honorable Calvin Holden.

Some family of three people shot to death calls a plea agreement sparing the life of a man who admits to the murders bittersweet.

“Its not fair for him to be able to breathe and my son not be able to breathe,” said Adelena Marsh, James Marsh’s mother.

“Nothing that you can do will bring her back. We get that she is gone, we are left with a hole that can never be filled,” explained Jessica Wells, Casey Maples’ Sister-in-Law.

In a tightly secured Christian County courtroom, Prosecutor Amy Fite laid out the crimes that happened in February 2015.

“Her cause of death was gunshot wound to the back of the head,” said Fite.

Williams stood shackled and plead guilty to killing Maples, her unborn child, Marsh and Christina Winden in mobile home park in Ozark. He’ll serve four consecutive life sentences without parole starting today.

“Our loss is worse because he is not remorseful. When you lose someone to a violent crime, its awful,” said April Copeland, Aunt.

Marsh said they opened their doors to Williams and this is how they are repaid.

“After his family turned their backs on him, we made him part of our family.”

Since Williams was arrested, he’s been diagnosed with schizophrenia, personality disorder and depression but said he is competent to understand what he has done.

“I’ll never think of him another day from today, will not, just will not. Our minds will be on the three boys that Casey left us,” said Ladonna Wright, Aunt.

“That monster stole hugs, kisses and so many memories that were to take place,” explained Natalie Minor.

Marsh said her family will need to find peace now.

“He has no legacy, he has no children. His child died the way he did,” said Marsh.

Williams’ armed criminal action charges, stolen firearm and tampering with a vehicle equal another 50 years that will run concurrent with the life sentences.
