Dear Scouting Families,

As the Council Key 3, it is our privilege and honor to serve our Scouts and volunteers. We want to inform you that, after careful consideration and review of the long-term sustainability of our camps, the Pathway to Adventure Council Executive Board has made the difficult decision to cease operations and pursue the sale of Camp Napowan in Wild Rose, Wisconsin.

This was a very difficult decision. We understand the concerns this may raise with our local Scouting families, but this is a necessary and important step as we continue to work toward ensuring we are in the best position to continue serving youth, families, and communities for many years to come. While Camp Napowan has been a valued part of our operations over the years, we are confident that this decision is the right course of action.

The closure will be effective after the Takhone Lodge Fall Fellowship at Camp Napowan on October 8-10, 2021. All Scouters are welcome to attend and assist in final preparations and relocation of important equipment and supplies. Registration information for the Fall Fellowship can be found on the Pathway to Adventure Council calendar.

The Pathway to Adventure Council Executive Board and staff are committed to continuing to provide program and camping opportunities at Owasippe Scout Reservation and Camp Frank S. Betz. We also will continue to invest in these properties to meet the needs of our current and future Scouts and families.

Troops with 2022 Camp Napowan summer camp reservations will be contacted directly regarding refunds and invited to join us at Owasippe Scout Reservation. 2021 Camp Napowan staff will also be contacted directly with an invitation to continue their staff experience at one of our other Council camps.

The Pathway to Adventure Council remains as dedicated as ever to delivering our nation’s foremost program for character development and values-based leadership training. Today’s news does not change the exciting activities and adventures Scouting delivers to the youth in our programs every day.
