LONG BEACH, Calif. – Dec. 11, 2018 – Epson, the number-one selling projector brand worldwide1, has been selected as a finalist in the 2018 Tech & Learning Awards of Excellence. The BrightLink® ultra short-throw interactive display was one of 10 education technology products recognized specifically for their unique use in schools. An additional 20 products were finalists for their use in classrooms and districts. The winners will be announced at a special reception at TCEA 2019 in San Antonio, Texas. To view the entire list of this year’s finalists, visit Techlearning.com.
“Since 1982, Tech & Learning has sought out and celebrated the best in education technology through the AOE,” said Kevin Hogan, managing director of content for Tech & Learning. “It used to be a simple review of speeds and feeds. In this year’s contest, nominated products were judged on two key factors: their uniqueness in the classroom, school, or district, and whether or not the nominated product solved specific problems.”
The BrightLink interactive display turns whiteboards and other flat surfaces into a giant tablet allowing students and teachers to control, annotate, and more using their fingers or an interactive pen. With multi-user capabilities, students and teachers can use up to two stylus pens and six fingers at a time. In addition, built-in wireless capabilities make it easy to share content and collaborate.
Educators can share content between the big screen and students’ wirelessly connected mobile devices using the Epson iProjection™ App with Moderator function2. Teachers have the ability to see and choose to display up to four devices simultaneously from a maximum of 50 connected student devices for an engaging, collaborative classroom experience. Students can wirelessly display content from Chromebooks, PCs, and Mac® computers, as well as iOS and Android devices. BrightLink also supports BYOD learning environments and is the perfect tool for displaying a variety of content or comparing students’ work side-by-side3.
The award-winning BrightLink product line features several different models ranging in brightness, resolution, and price including, the world’s first 3LCD interactive laser display – the BrightLink 710Ui. The BrightLink 710Ui delivers a large, bright, image up to 100 inches, up to 20,000 hours4 of laser light source life, and Instant Off®. It also offers 4,000 lumens of color brightness and 4,000 lumens of white brightness5 with a Full HD WUXGA display for crisp images even in well-lit classrooms, built-in pen/touch interactivity, and multi-platform connectivity options. The BrightLink 710Ui is also compatible with popular software used in today’s classrooms and includes a one-year subscription to SMART Learning Suite.
Epson and the BrightLink interactive display were also recently recognized in the 2018 Readers’ Choice Awards hosted by both THE Journal and Campus Technology. The award programs, each in their fourth year, ask their readers to weigh in on their favorite education technologies. Both publications awarded Epson a Platinum Readers’ Choice Award for Favorite Projector by Brand and the BrightLink a Silver Readers’ Choice Award for Favorite Interactive Whiteboard, Display, Flat Panel or Kiosk by Brand.
“The BrightLink creates a unique, interactive learning experience for students,” said Jason Meyer, group product manager, Projectors, Epson America, Inc. “Receiving recognition from these leading education awards programs reinforces Epson’s leadership and popularity in providing projection technology to schools and districts.”
