MANSFIELD, Mass. (WPRI) — Police are investigating after a Pawtucket man was killed in a crash in Mansfield Monday morning, according to Massachusetts State Police.

The crash happened on I-95 South around 9:30 a.m.

Police said one of the cars involved veered off the highway and crashed into some trees.

The driver of that vehicle, identified by police as a 28-year-old Pawtucket man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said his passenger, identified as a 26-year-old Pawtucket man, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.

The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
