Altenew Craft Your Life Kit: Vintage Tapestry

Thank you Roteja Galvan (www.rotejacara.com/ustvarjainica) for sending the Altenew Fans my way.

The Craft Your Life Kits come with so many different products that all work together or separately. I love to experiment with the different elements to see all the different ways they can be used. It is fun to open the package and see all of the different products that come with each kit.

I subscribe to Craft Your Life Kits for those and many more reasons. You can find out more about the subscription at https://altenew.com/products/craft-your-life-project-kit-monthly-subscription-plan. Or just go to www.altenew.com

Craft your Life Project Kit: Vintage Tapestry Layering Stamp and Die Set

There is such a variety of leaves and flowers in this set! The possibilities are endless. This card showcases many of the images. They are of different shapes and sizes so they combine to make a great composition.

The third layer of the flowers is stamped with Clear Embossing Ink and heat embossed with Antique Gold Embossing Powder. The texture from just that one layer of stamping is amazing.

CYL Project Kit: Vintage Tapestry 3D Embossing Folder with stamps, dies and stencils

This card is a great example of how the different products in the CYL kits work together. I used the 3D embossing folder, the layering stencils plus the stamps and dies.

The embossing folder was put through my die cut machine to create that gorgeous raised image. I then carefully swiped the Clear Embossing Ink over the flourish and heat embossed it with Antique Gold Embossing Powder.

Floral images from the Vintage Tapestry Layering Stencils were colored with Altenew blending brushes and ink pads then die cut. (I especially love the small florals that are in hanging clusters.) Images from the stamp set were also die cut.

Only the daisy type flower is popped with foam. There is already so much depth in the embossing that I didn’t feel any of the other images needed to be raised.

You (All About You Word Die Set) is die cut from gold glitter card stock. Two additional layers are under the glitter cardstock to make the word stand out. The rest of the sentiment comes from Cattlleya BAF.

There is something elegant and unexpected about a square card. The top layer is popped with fun foam to give the card more stability and a grander look.

    1. Cyndi,
I really appreciate your taking the time to visit my blog. Seems like there are a lot of gold lovers like me!!!

  1. Both of your cards are so vibrantly beautiful!!! I love the colors you have used in both. The first uses so many different and vivid colors that work so well together, and the gold frame around really adds great elegance. Your second card with the gold heat embossing over the dry embossed EF is STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL!!! You and two others have made me reconsider getting this subscription this month, I have felt this wasn’t for me this month and that I should cancel and look again next month, but your use of such stunning colors and the gold (I tend to be a silver person, but this gold is wonderful!!!) drew me in. Your artwork has such balance, its beauty is spread over the entire card in each case. SO well done!!! I look forward to seeing what you create for the Craft Your Life Kit again next month and I hope that you have been contributing previously, as I really want to see what you have created for the previous months of this CYL kit since its inception. I want to see what I have missed in your blog!

    Best wishes,

    Joanne

    1. Wow, Joanne, thank you for all of your nice comments. I love creating with Altenew products. They give me inspiration. The CYL kits give you so many ways to work with one stamp set. I really do get a lot of milage out of each kit. You are welcome to come visit my blog any time. I teach about once a month on Saturdays on Bridget Casey’s Free Saturday Workshop. She announces them each week on the Facebook Altenew Fan Group. I also teach the second Wednesday evening of each month. Watch Altenew for the announcement of those classes. I’d love to meet you there.

  2. Lovely card! The flowers really pop! I don’t have anything like this embossing folder in my collection. I can’t wait to get it.

    1. Thank you. I love to put three Altenew flowers on Slimline cards. It’s a perfect combination. The slimline is a welcome change from the A2.

    1. Thank you. Heat embossing was the first thing I learned when I started stamping. In fact, everything I did was gold heat embossed for my first year!!
