The majority of Philadelphia’s taxpayers have already paid their 2020 Real Estate Tax bill. If you haven’t, you have until Monday, June 15 to do so. This deadline has been moved twice due to the COVID-19 health emergency.

Revenue from Real Estate Tax helps to fund essential City services including the emergency management teams, which have been so important in responding to the COVID-19 health emergency.  A portion of the money collected from property tax also helps to fund the School District of Philadelphia. In fact, 55 cents of every Real Estate Tax dollar collected goes to Philadelphia’s schools.

Don’t delay paying your property tax if you are able to pay before the deadline. Additional charges will begin to accrue beginning July 1, 2020 to January 1 of next year for nonpayment.

If you are unable to pay your property tax, we encourage you to get into a payment agreement.  Additionally, if you are already enrolled in a payment agreement like OOPA, and your financial situation has recently changed, you can renegotiate the terms.

We are not collecting in-person payments this week but there are many other convenient ways to pay:

  • Online – Pay with eCheck (FREE); debit or credit card (fees apply),
  • By calling (877) 309-3710 – Pay with eCheck (FREE); debit or credit card (fees apply),
  • By mailing a check or money order to:
