MORRISANIA, the Bronx — The floor of a hair salon collapsed into the basement of the Bronx building on Sunday, officials said.

No one was reported missing in the aftermath of the Prospect Avenue collapse, an FDNY spokesperson said. Three people were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Images from the scene show a hole in the floor of the building.

It’s not yet clear what caused the collapse.

Department of Buildings inspectors were on scene Sunday night and conducted a structural stability inspection, an agency spokesperson said. They determined a 15 foot by 15 foot section of the floor had collapsed into the basement, damaging some plumbing.

Inspectors said it was an isolated structural issue and that the rest of the building was stable.

The DOB issued a partial vacate order for the salon portion of the building. The agency also issued a property violation to the building owner for failure to maintain it. The owner was ordered to hire an engineer to review the building and put together repair plans.
