Erasmus Hall pipeline to Rutgers football continues with addition of Sean Ryan

Erasmus Hall, one of the top college football programs in the tristate area, now has three of the top players they’ve produced in recent years on Rutgers.

On Friday morning, Sean Ryan committed to Rutgers out of the transfer portal, reuniting with former teammates Kessawn Abraham and Aron Cruickshank.

It was a winding road for Ryan to end up at Rutgers. He originally committed to Temple then transferred to West Virginia, where he spent three seasons and emerged as a very solid wide receiver in 2021 (25 catches for 399 receiving yards and three touchdowns).

The news of Ryan’s commitment to Rutgers out of the portal led to a throwback post on social media. Ryan posted a photo from 2017 that featured himself along with Abraham and Cruickshank.

Now the three from Erasmus Hall are now teammates at Rutgers:

Abraham has developed into a strong cornerback, with 43 tackles and five passes defended this past season as a junior. He had five tackles in the Gator Bowl loss to Wake Forest.

As for Cruickshank, he was a real threat in the Rutgers offense until suffered an injury mid-season that cost him the rest of his second season at Rutgers. Cruickshank was electric on special teams as a returner and was a huge part of the Rutgers offense as a wide receiver.
