The mission of Downtown Lee's Summit Main Street is to promote and strengthen its economically strong and diverse Downtown Core through a master plan of:

  • community education and awareness;
  • cooperative utilization of business resources;
  • continuity in design and historical preservation; and
  • continued growth of the economic base.

Downtown Lee's Summit Main Street, a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the revitalization and preservation of Downtown Lee's Summit, is the conservator of the historic downtown.

Since December 1989, when the organization was incorporated, countless stakeholders have worked to bring Downtown Lee's Summit back to life. The results of these efforts during the past 25+ years are undeniable: Downtown Lee's Summit is now among the best in the nation and was honored as a Great American Main Street award-winner, presented through the National Main Street Center, a subsidiary of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
