The stamp set is made up of two separate images this month, one with a bunch of Chamomile flowers in a pitcher, and the other, Chamomile flowers in a teacup.

My first card uses the flowers-in-a-pitcher image, and I’ve stamped onto Altenew watercolor paper with waterproof ink, then painted the image with the Altenew 24 Pan and 36 Pan Paint sets.

This was a quick a simple image to “color” as I really only painted the pitcher, the flowers centers and the background. I liberally painted the whole pitcher with clean water then added paint to the wet area, adding more paint around the edges of the pitcher and leaving the middle area lighter for highlights.

After painting the flower centers, I added a very pale wash of lime green around the flower centers to accent the white-ness of the white flower petals. Then, I wet the background paper with more clean water, and dropped in shades of a variety of colors left in my paint lid from some previous painting session. When everything was dry, I added paint speckles.

I used a Stamp Market Hexagon die to die cut the opening in piece of checked patterned paper, added some of Altenew’s new foam tape behind! (Have you see the beautifully packaged, gigantic roll of foam tape??)

I stamped a greeting from the Sentiment Strips stamp set, heat embossing with white embossing powder on black cardstock, and trimming the strip to fit from edge to edge and adding more foam tape behind the section that spans the die cut opening.

A few small, black enamel dots complete this card.

My second card uses the other image in the Chamomile stamp set, and the technique I used this time is possibly even quicker than the first card!

I stamped the image with embossing ink and heat set with white embossing powder on yellow cardstock. Wanting to let the cardstock color contribute to the colors in the image (I’m pretending the flowers are mini Brown Eyed Susans this time) I used colored pencils to add color.

I colored the polka-dots turquoise and added a patterned paper strip to match, and deepened the shadows on the cup, saucer and flower petals with darker shades of yellow.

I wasn’t able to get a dark enough shade of brown for the flower centers, so I actually added the darkest shade with Altenew woodless watercolor pencils and wet the pigment just slightly to allow the color to blend.

I used both grey pencils and a very pale grey alcohol based marker to add shadow behind the cup and in the middle of the flower bunch. I stamped a sentiment from the Chamomile stamp set this time and finished the card front with the coordinating strips of patterned paper.
