A Checkpoint C course is defined as a yearlong course beyond Checkpoint B consistent with the Checkpoint C learning standards. Advanced Placement and IB courses are aligned to Checkpoint C. See http://www.nysed.gov/world-languages/languages-other-english-publications. If you don't have a Checkpoint C course, we can find pathways for your students.

Please note: schools will be supported in embedding Capstone Biliteracy Projects into Checkpoint C courses, with the expectation that all students in a Checkpoint C course would achieve the NYSSB upon graduation.

Please note that the NYSSB can be awarded to any student in any language and community members can be invited to be part of the process in lower-incidence languages, for example.
