Come join us for the first of two June Science Speaks! book signings and presentations hosted by the NYCDOE STEM Department and the National Archives at NYC. Sidney Horenstein, co-author of Concrete Jungle: New York City and Our Last Best Hope for a Sustainable Future is a geologist and former Coordinator of Environmental Public Programs at the American Museum of Natural History. He also served as an adjunct lecturer in geology at the City University of New York for 25 years and is the natural history consultant to the Bronx County Historical Society. He has written extensively about New York City geology and has a long history of doing geology walking tours of Manhattan. This talk is relevant to teachers of all grade levels. All participants will receive a free copy of Concrete Jungle: New York City and Our Last Best Hope for a Sustainable Future.
