Education Programs Directors, Supervisors, and Professionals assist and foster the growth of early childhood, pre-K, K-12, postsecondary, adult, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight.
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
This position is located in the Nevada Department of Education, Office of Early Learning and Development, Las Vegas. This position serves both as the Head Start State Collaboration director and the Child Care and Development Funds quality coordinator. The incumbent will assist and support Early Head Start and Head Start grantees to collaborate with entities involved in State and local planning processes to better meet the needs of low-income children (from birth to school entry) and their families. In addition, the incumbent will facilitate statewide planning and implementation of work to carry out the activities of Nevada's Child Care and Development Plan to improve quality and increase access to high-quality child care facilities. *** THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. An earned Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and two years of professional experience in an educational program area; OR Master's degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and three years of professional experience in an educational program area; OR one year of experience as an Education Programs Professional in Nevada State service. |
