Scope of the Project

The consortium collects and makes publicly available up-to-date information on all political crowds reported in the United States, including marches, protests, strikes, and other actions.

The CCC is collecting this data in the public interest and to further scholarly research. Anyone who wishes to conduct research using the data is fully responsible for any necessary contact with their own Institutional Review Boards.

Erica Chenoweth and Jeremy Pressman are the co-directors of the CCC.

Consortium Volunteers

Volunteers played a vital role in data gathering and data entry during the first years of the CCC. They primarily included faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates. A small number of volunteers served as team coordinators who led the coding effort in two-week stints.

The CCC now has a dedicated project manager and paid research assistants. The CCC is not currently accepting volunteer applications.
