A new T.J.Maxx is coming to town.

The 21,000-square-foot store is scheduled to open Nov. 11 at 1730 S. Bearing St., on Interstate 95 and Stirling Road in Dania Beach, the company said in a news release. It is expected to bring about 60 full- and part-time jobs to the area.

“Our newest store in Dania Beach will offer an ever-changing [merchandise] selection,” said Tim Miner, president of T.J.Maxx, also pointing to more spacious dressing rooms and other new format features.

The store is part of the Dania Pointe development, which will include shops, apartments, offices and entertainment venues, according to Peter Flint, director of development at Kimco Realty Corp. of Hollywood, developer of the project.

With this latest opening, T.J.Maxx is bucking the trend of store closings, which in South Florida have included some Sears, Kmart and Mattress Firm locations, as well as the announced closing of Orchard Supply Hardware by parent Lowe’s.

The Framingham, Mass.-based retailer operates more than 1,200 stores in 49 states and Puerto Rico, including 25 stores in South Florida.

The new Dania Beach store will be open 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays.
