Rock Climbing Camp Ages 9-16 - 419007

Learn the fundamentals of climbing on our 45-foot tall roped walls and 13 foot bouldering walls. Students will learn the basics of climbing and develop their technique, strength, and endurance skills in a goal-oriented setting. In a group environment, staff will help kids understand safety and gain confidence while playing games, participating in activities, and having a great time. Wild in the City - 419266

While it is a city, Boise is part of an amazing variety of ecosystems including deserts, forests, and rivers. Explore the wilds of the city and experience outdoor recreational opportunities Boise has to offer. We will hike in the Boise Foothills while learning about sagebrush deserts; visit the WaterShed to examine water bugs and test water quality; safari through the zoo to explore ecosystems and animals from around the world; explore local agriculture from seed to harvest at the Boise Urban Garden School. Transportation provided to each partner site; Drop-off and pick up at Fort Boise Community Center.

Bogus Basin Mountain Discovery Teen Camp - 419830

Teens aged 12-14 can explore their local mountain recreation area with Mountain Discovery Camps through epic hikes, hands-on activities, and instructor-guided experiences. Participants will dive into nature, develop a deeper connection with the great outdoors, and make lasting memories and friendships at Bogus Basin. Daily transportation to and from the mountain is provided for this unique experience. Teens should come prepared each day by dressing for the weather and packing a backpack, snack, lunch, and water bottle. This camp repeats activities each week.

Sailing - Beginner - 419943

No sailing experience is required for the beginning sailing classes!
Participants will learn to sail using classroom, land-based, and on-the-water instruction from certified US Sailing Instructors. Campers will learn sailing terminology and elements, water safety, tacking, gybing, and upwind/downwind sailing techniques. Participants MUST be able to swim 25 yards in open water while wearing a life jacket. A swim check will be conducted on the first day; participants unable to complete the 25-yard swim test will not be allowed to continue the program.

Transportation to and from Spring Shores Marina is not included – participants will need to provide their own transportation for the week.

Come each day ready to participate by dressing for the weather, bringing or wearing swimsuit, snack, lunch (cooler available), water bottle, sunscreen and closed-toed shoes that can get wet (aqua socks are a great option- for safety NO flip-flops or open-toed sandals allowed). Hat, sunglasses, towel, and change of clothes each day are highly recommended! A participant letter with details on what to expect each day will be emailed the week prior to start of camp. Camp brought to you through partnerships with Idaho Parks and Recreation, Ada County Parks & Waterways, Southern Idaho Sailing Outreach, and Boise Parks and Recreation. Sailing Camp - Intermediate - 419944

This course is open to participants who have completed the Beginner Level course, have a comparable certificate of course completion, or demonstrate comparable sailing experience. We will build upon skills already learned to further develop understanding of sail controls, helming, sail trim, boating safety, racing rules, strategy and other US Sailing skills. This course will have a strong emphasis on safety, peer learning and having fun!
