This Fourth of July, Pa. consumers will have more choices than ever before when it comes to legal at-home fireworks.

Act 43, signed by Governor Tom Wolf last October, legalizes and taxes “Class-C” consumer fireworks such as bottle rockets, Roman candles, and aerial spinners.

People are not allowed to set off fireworks within 150 feet of an occupied structure and some municipalities have passed their own ordinances banning them altogether.

Dave Pollick from Dale E. Anstine personal injury law firm appeared on Daybreak Friday morning to discuss the new law and the new risks and liabilities that come with it.

There were an estimated 12,900 fireworks-related, emergency department-treated injuries in 2017, according to the the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
