Witherspoon accumulated 3,414 all-purpose yards.

AWARD WINNERS

Coach of the Year: Terry Curtis, UMS-Wright 

Curtis led a dominant UMS team that went 14-0, won the school's second straight Class 4A title and allowed just 58 points all season. He also notched his 300th career win during the season and now has an overall record of 303-85. His seventh state title ties him for most in AHSAA history with Hoover's Josh Niblett and Central-Clay's Danny Horn.

Player of the Year: Bo Nix, Pinson Valley

What did Bo Nix not do this season? The Auburn quarterback signee led Pinson Valley to a second straight Class 6A championship, threw for 306 yards in the championship game and finished with more than 3,800 yards passing and 37 TD passes in 2018. He's already been named AL.com's All-Birmingham Player of the Year and the statwide player of the year by Gatorade.
