✍ Barbara J. Genovese
📖 Children's Literature (ages 7+ would be my recommendation)
⭐ 4.5/5
💭 "As long as you leave the lights ON in your head you can leave that light ON- with hardly a dread."
➡ George's family has tried everything to help him remember to turn the lights off to no avail. In this fun rhyming story, his family tries to help him understand the importance of turning lights off- and conservation in general in order to help make the world a better place.
🙏 Thank you to Barbara Genovese for a complimentary copy of George Leaves the Lights ON. All opinions are my own.

🎯 What I loved: I loved the message of this heartfelt story: conservation only works if we all pitch in and had a great time reading it with my 7 year old daughter. She really enjoyed the rhyme scheme and found George 'so silly.' While some of the prose were a bit over her head, she specifically liked the scenes that featured the goats and George's 12th birthday. Reading this book inspired several good conversations about ways that we, too, can contribute to conserving the Earth and I have high hopes that our electric bill will be significantly lower this month because of George!

* starting conversations about conservation with your kids
* fun rhyme schemes
* family-centered reading
