DUBLIN — A guaranteed admissions agreement is in place between Bladen Community College and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, the schools have announced.

The new pact is a way to facilitate a smooth transition for transfer students at Bladen Community College who are seeking a four-year degree at UNCW, a news release says. In addition, UNC Wilmington has also employed a transfer student success advisor that will be serving Bladen Community College to help students complete the admissions process and understand the requirements necessary to pursue a degree in the Port City.

“This is just one more way that we can show students the commitment that exists between our college and UNCW,” said Jeff Kornegay, executive vice president and chief academic Oofficer of Bladen Community College. “Students can come to BCC to complete their first two years and transfer seamlessly to UNCW to receive their bachelor’s degree.”

He added, “Community colleges exist to open doors and create new opportunities. This agreement with UNCW is a good example of opening a door for our students.”
