Position Summary:
Nature Works interns have a unique opportunity to get hands on experience with urban ecology while advancing projects at Forest Park. This 8 week internship is designed to introduce youth to urban ecology where participants complete conservation and restoration projects in and around the Forest Park Waterway.
Job Functions:
Each intern will make individual contributions to a team of Nature works interns to perform the following essential job functions:

Invasive species management

Communicate with Field Coordinator and Assistant Crew Leader

Operate power and handheld tools

Work cooperatively with other crew members

Participate in training and educational activities
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Ability to exert physical effort for extended periods and performing manual labor in extreme temperatures required. Ability to frequently move and/or lift up to fifty (50) pounds and carry it a reasonable distance, and occasionally lift and/or move more than eighty (80) pounds. Ability to hear, understand and follow oral and written instructions over radio, telephone and in person. Willingness to use herbicide in a safe and efficient manner. Ability to take direction and work in a team.
