RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Two women were arrested for sexually assaulting a transgender person at a bar in Raleigh, records show.

An incident report states that the victim reported on Dec. 10, 2018 being forcibly fondled at the Milk Bar. According to the 911 call, the victim, a transgender woman, reported being assaulted in the bathroom at the bar. 

Arrest records show Amber Harrell, 38, and Jessica Fowler, 31, were arrested in connection with the assault. Both are charged with second-degree kidnapping and sexual battery.

The victim said in the 911 call that two women in the bathroom were joking about the victim’s genitalia. One of the women also pulled her shirt up and pushed the victim up against the wall, according to the call.

The three then went to the bar. According to the victim’s 911 call, the bartender could tell the victim was uncomfortable and asked the two women to stop.

The victim also suffered a panic attack in the bathroom, according to the call.

Bunch of Fives, which is the management company behind the Milk Bar and several Raleigh restaurants, sent the following statement to CBS 17:

This matter was handled with cooperation and full transparency with the Raleigh Police Department and the detective that was assigned this case. We do not condone this type of behavior to any of our patrons or staff. We pride ourselves on having fun, diverse, and safe environments at all of our locations.  It’s a shame that two women can do so much harm to a wonderful person. Once they came out of the restroom and it was made clear of what was happening, we immediately stepped in to stop the situation and make sure she was ok. We have supported her ever since she started coming here and will continue to welcome her at all of our locations.
