The £200,000-a-week Manchester City ace has been spotted queuing for pasties and sausage rolls in a shop close to his new pad.

And he seems to have found the recipe for success, scoring at Crystal Palace in the FA Cup yesterday as City reached the fifth round with a 3-0 win.

The 22-year-old England ace has been popping into a branch of Greggs in the posh Cheshire town of Knutsford.

SIMPLE PLEASURES: Manchester City's Raheem Sterling has a taste for Greggs pasties

He has been seen carrying treats to his £500,000 limited-edition Bentley.

A source told us: “Raheem has been in a couple of times for sausage rolls and pasties. What’s wrong with that?

“Everyone loves a bit of Greggs and it just shows that he’s not too flash to get in the queue with the rest of us.

“But Knutsford is a very posh town, so you’ll get a better class of customer in this branch.”

HUMBLE: A fan has spotted Sterling looking for bargains at Poundworld

Sterling is known to love a bargain and one fan even posted a photograph of him shopping in Poundworld near his former home in Southport.

He is now living in a lavish home in the countryside just a few minutes’ drive from his favourite Greggs branch.

The five-acre pile, with its own pond, is in a village near Crewe. Sterling lives there with his long-term girlfriend Paige Milian and their newborn son Thiago.

The five-bedroom 7,500 square foot property is flanked by farms and boasts its own paddock.

There is also an extra one-bed apartment over a triple garage. Neighbours had moaned to council planners that the new house – on the site of a bungalow – was out of keeping with its rural surroundings.

It also features a giant kitchen where £44million buy Sterling can tuck into another favourite food from his childhood in Jamaica – chicken feet soup.

He stokes up on steaming bowls full of the West Indian delicacy before and after crunch matches.

His lover Paige buys the fowl’s feet from the butcher’s shop and lovingly prepares the broth, with fried chicken and steamed veg.
