Description

This day long session will support service providers gain a better understanding of youth homelessness and introduces support workers to the Service Prioritization Decision Assistance Tool (SPDAT). The SPDAT is an evidence informed tool for assessing the needs of homeless individuals and families and for deciding the appropriate level of intervention to resolve each individual’s or family’s homelessness. Since its inception in 2009, the implementation of SPDAT has transformed how agencies and communities triage, assess and prioritize individuals (adult and youth) and families that are experiencing homelessness to ensure an end to homelessness.

Currently being used in over 1000 communities throughout Canada, the United States and Australia, the SPDAT can assist you and your agency in getting the results needed to end homelessness in your community as well. This day-‐long session will review the importance of service prioritization and program matching as well as all of the components of the SPDAT.
