About this event

The Tree Council are proud to announce our next webinar explaining how to care for your fruit trees and hedgerows and how to inspire and engage your school community in helping to care for your new orchards

Collaborating with the legendary Lewis McNeill (who recently presented on BBC Gardeners World), we will bring you a comprehensive breakdown of all you need to know about:

  • The aftercare your fruit trees and hedgerows need post planting, including watering, maintenance
  • Keeping your trees and hedgerows healthy as they grow, spotting and controlling pests and disease
  • Harvesting and making the most of your produce (year 3 onwards)
  • Tips on reaching out and engaging local volunteer groups and networks who can offer advice, support and expertise to help you maintain and care for your orchards and hedgerows
  • Ideas and tips for filling up your gift box, to gift to a neighbouring school, and applying for your Orchards for schools certificate
  • Celebrating success and sharing your experiences/events through press/radio and on social media #ForceforNature
  • Top tips for embedding Orchards into your school curriculum and school improvement plans, looking forward to Young Tree Champions

There will also be an opportunity for you to ask our experts any questions you may have on how to care for and make the most of your incredible orchards.

With thanks to our partner the Daily Mail and other major donors.
